My own dog Arlo was a street dog from Bulgaria and I knew I wanted to work with a charity based in this country so I got in touch with Street Hearts to volunteer in January of 2025. I have missed volunteering since coming back from Ukraine in 2022 and so it was wonderful to be able to head back out to another country in eastern Europe to work with street dogs and dumped dogs. The work that street hearts have done in their decade of work is incredible. With the street dog population down significantly, they work alongside local councils in the best interest of dogs long term in the region. With free spay/neuter and education to the local population, they have not only improved the lives of the dogs in their care but also help locals and in particular the next generation to understand dogs better & how to care for them better

Now back in the UK, I'll be helping with post adoption support and also creating my own course utilising some of the training footage I captured while at the shelter.
